Research ProgrammesPersonal Power Diagnostic: Mike has now completed his research into where people get their power from. If you would like to find out where your power comes from, please feel free to complete our unique online diagnostic. It will take you about five minutes and will deliver an instant report on your personal power hierarchy. Previous Research ProgrammesPolitical Skill: Colin has now completed the initial phase of this programme which successfully identified over 50, skills which in combination represent the true nature of political skill. Much work has been done by academics in the past; however, this is the most detailed explanation yet. These were empirically researched to determine which of them are most critical to success and this has provided a fascinating insight into political skill today. For a summary of the key findings, please click here. If you would like further information about this research, or wish to help us expand it, please contact us. Group Influencing Tactics: Throughout 2005/6 Mike has been surveying and building our knowledge about specific tactics and strategies that individuals use whilst working in groups. This is now ready to be presented. If you are responsible for bringing people together for networking events and have a free slot for a presenter, Mike would be interested to hear from you and may be willing to present some of this material. If you want to find out more, please contact Mike with some details about the group that you run. Influencing Styles: In 2006, during the development of our IPQ diagnostic we accumulated a great deal of analysis about how people prefer to influence. This was predominately based on the UK management population. These initial results are in the process of being written up. If you would like to extend this we are very interested in talking to anyone who can help us to extend this research, particularly in the US, Canada and Spain. Please contact us if you think you can help. Political Tactics: In 2003/4 we conducted field based research on the tactics that individuals in large organisations use to effect influence. This resulted in our catalogue of Games, Rackets and Dirty Tricks, some of which were published in 2005 in our first book, "21 Dirty Tricks at Work" from Capstone Wiley. The full catalogue of over 70 can be made available to our clients. In Search of Power: In 2000, Mike Phipps conducted some unique research about where people get their power from. Here are the results.
Given that our specialist work relies on up-to-date research and practical know-how, we would love to hear from anybody who would like to make a contribution. Please contact us with your ideas and thoughts. |
