Colin Gautrey's Background

With significant levels of research and extensive work with clients, Colin Gautrey is rapidly becoming a recognised expert in the practical use of power and influence in the workplace.

Based in the UK, Colin has a wealth of experience in various disciplines, including Mergers and Acquisitions, International Strategy, Information Technology, Sales and Leadership Development. His passion and enthusiasm lie in the subject of influence and in helping people use this skill successfully.

The Executive Coaching Summit, New York

Since 2003, he has been working with individuals and groups around the world to help them to increase and improve their influencing skills, using a mix of consultancy work, coaching and training. With greater influence, careers develop, results are delivered and exceeded, and increased satisfaction is achieved.

He combines tried and tested research with extensive personal experience in corporate life to offer clients an innovative, yet simple plan for using influence to get them to the next level, and beyond.

As well as providing training for an impressive portfolio of corporate clients, he has also been used by leading business schools to help students and graduates master power and influence (e.g. Wharton, London Business School and Warwick Business School). He also works with the Institute of Directors and The Conference Board, for whom he recently led a session at the Executive Coaching Summit in New York where he was exploring the future of Executive Coaching.

Colin is the author of several books, the latest being Advocates & Enemies, which was published in September 2011. 21 Dirty Tricks at Work was published in July 2005 (Capstone Wiley) and Political Dilemmas at Work in September 2008 (Wiley). He has written for many publications, including "Managing the Political Temperature of Your Team", published in the AMA Handbook of Leadership (Marshall Goldsmith).
